Default homemade line spooler

Here is version of a homemade line spooler. You control the tension of the spool with the nuts on the end of the threaded rod... works really good on winding on braid tightly. all the joints are glued except the T's at the bottom of the post so they can pivot. Found all the materials in my shop so the cost was free.... probably 10 bucks if bought all new!

Always nice to see homemade ideas at work, thanks for posting.

Do you need to hold or weigh down the spooler so that its stable when winding on line?

How did you get the pipe ends that hold the dowel to be flat like that--some sort of heat gun?

I thought I would have to weigh it down but its heavy enough to stay on the floor, even with some heavy tension on it. And a heat gun was exactly it. squeezed the ends between two bricks until they cooled

Default add weight fill base with sand for stability
